As Founder of SLAYYY Hair—launched in 2023—she transformed her own struggles with scalp irritation, redness, scabbing, breakage, and discomfort into a mission: to create synthetic braiding hair that feels luxurious, safer, cleaner, and itch-free. After years years of research and development, she developed the technology behind the proprietary Secret SLAYYY Sauce, a formulation and process that combats the adverse affects that women experience and irritants from synthetic fibers—delivering the cleaner, safer, scalp-friendly solution women had been waiting for.

SLAYYY quickly disrupted the synthetic hair industry, and its impact has been embraced across ethnicities and cultures. By blending innovation, inclusivity, and performance, the brand has redefined expectations of synthetic hair while carving out space in a $111B global beauty market. Today, SLAYYY is carried by major retailers including Target, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls, along with select black-owned independent retailers across the US, Canada and Africa establishing a new standard for quality and accessibility in beauty.

Diann’s pursuit of excellence is the throughline of her career. Before founding SLAYYY, she was celebrated as an internationally acclaimed wedding and event designer, producing extraordinary experiences for celebrities, Fortune 500 companies, and high-net-worth individuals across the globe. Her work in the luxury space was marked by meticulous attention to detail, innovation, and trend setting artistry—qualities she now pours into every strand of SLAYYY Hair and every customer experience at Glow + Flow Beauty, her retail concept stores in Inglewood and Hawthorne, California.

Her journey also spans media and publishing. She is a two-time best-selling author and the former host of several television shows, including I Do Over (WeTV), Wedding Day (TNT), Wedding in a Week (WeTV), and Bravo’s To Rome for Love. Beyond the screen, Diann is a sought-after global keynote speaker, known for inspiring and mesmerizing audiences with her story of resilience, creativity, empowerment, and entrepreneurship.

Today, Diann runs her beauty ventures alongside her daughter and partner, Riann Valentine, and her husband and business partner, Damon Haley—continuing to build a family legacy rooted in vision, innovation, and empowerment. Meet our Founder

Diann Valentine founded SLAYYY Hair in 2021 after years of wearing braids and experiencing increased itching, scalp irritation, scabbing, and breakage regularly with her own scalp. Determined to find a healthier and non-toxic solution, she started developing what has become known as the SLAYYY Secret Sauce. After two years of intense research, trial and error, and invaluable feedback from the strong community of braiders around the country, SLAYYY was born. “Women deserve more care and respect for our contribution to the hair and beauty industry, and I’m so proud to champion this movement on behalf of my sisters and now able to offer black women a superior product while wearing protective styles.," says Diann.

In addition to SLAYYY, Diann is also the President and Creative Director of Glow + Flow Beauty, a beauty retail concept store with locations in Inglewood and Hawthorne, California. Glow + Flow Beauty is reimagining the shopping experience for black women and creating an environment in urban neighborhoods where they feel at home as valued customers. The expansion plan for Glow + Flow Beauty involves a franchise model of land and business ownership through collaborating with black women, financiers, and organizations. Diann believes that the best way to change the trajectory of a community is for the residents to own it, and every urban community needs a Glow + Flow.

Before entering the beauty space, Diann enjoyed an illustrious career as an internationally acclaimed wedding and event designer, having produced a plethora of celebrations for celebrities, high-net-worth individuals, and Fortune 500 companies across the globe. Her achievements include being a two-time author, international public speaker, and television host working to turn dreams into reality for women in love and those looking for love. With a flourishing business and career, Diann has achieved numerous accomplishments and has inspired many during numerous domestic and international public speaking engagements. Her love of personal touch and human interaction allows her to excite audiences and mesmerize them with her years of production and life experiences wrapped in an electrifying smile.
